Thank you for visiting Heather Michelle designs!  It is such a pleasure to be able to do what I love full-time, and I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me along this exciting venture!

I began designing jewelry when I was very young.  What started out as a hobby has grown into a great passion.  I live and breathe jewelry.  I opened up my first store at age thirteen in my grandmother's beauty shop.  I was a big hit with all the ladies, even then!  I made jewelry off and on through college, learning different techniques in metalsmithing and honing in on my style along the way.  I was finally able to quit my "day job" a few years ago to focus completely on my line.  It has been a tough, yet very rewarding change in my life. 

For years I have also studied different forms of patination, and enjoy incorporating the patinas I create into my work.  I spend hours in my garage experimenting with chemical reactions on metal; it is amazing what a few household chemicals can do to a piece of brass!  Hand patinaed pieces have become a huge hit among my customers and fellow designers alike. So much so, that in Feb. 2008 I decided to open up an artisan supply shop, Patina Queen, where I sell hand patinaed jewelry findings and supplies to others.  I now have two supply shops online, as well as wholesale accounts all over the US and abroad.
